Swans, the influential American experimental rock band, have announced the release of their highly anticipated sixteenth studio album, titled “The Beggar.” The album, which was written and produced by Swans’ founding member Michael Gira, features contributions from both current and former Swans members, as well as members of Angels Of Light. Notably, the album also includes a guest appearance by Swan Ben Frost.
Born out of the 2020 lockdown, “The Beggar” follows Swans’ 2019 album “leaving meaning.” Gira had faced numerous tour cancellations due to the pandemic, leading him to focus on creating new songs for a Swans album. Now, Gira feels a renewed sense of optimism and is eager to share the album with the world, stating, “My favorite color is pink. I hope you enjoy the album.”
