Emerging with a distinct sound and style in the early 1990s, Clifford Joseph Price, popularly known as Goldie, has remained a commanding figure within the global music industry. Born into a mixed heritage, of both Jamaican and Scottish origins, Goldie was adopted at an early age, having faced physical and sexual abuse through his early years. He rose from adversity, however, channelling his energy into becoming a member of the breakdance crew Westside and making his mark as a graffiti artist in the West Midlands.
In 2025, under the pen name Rufige Kru, Goldie released the remastered version of the renowned ‘Terminator’ EP. This was not just an album; it was a defining moment in the history of jungle and drum and bass genres. First released over three decades ago, in 1992, ‘Terminator’ was an innovative breakthrough, propelling the journey of both Goldie and his co-founded label Metalheadz, marking an evolutionary step in the genre.
