Kouhei Matsunaga’s latest project, ‘Climb Downhill 2’, released on Bruk, pays homage to his 25 years of creative output, as well as his previous collaborations with Sean Booth and Mika Vainio. This album builds upon his signature sound, incorporating rugged club fundamentals with a touch of madness and psychedelia. It’s an eccentric and offbeat addition to the Bruk label, reminiscent of artists like $hit & $hine and Matthew Herbert in its raw and unconventional approach to music production.
The album features 13 tracks that are perfect for unconventional dancers and adventurous DJs. Matsunaga’s distinct acrid melodies take center stage in tracks like ‘Fluido and Piacing’ and ‘Lyre of Theodor Kellner’, infusing the entire album with a unique and tangy flavor.
