Laura Groves, the talented singer-songwriter from Bradford, has released her latest album ‘Radio Red’, a captivating blend of nostalgic pop that draws inspiration from Cocteau Twins, Fleetwood Mac, and Kate Bush. Having previously recorded as Blue Roses under the label XL and collaborating with Nathan Jenkins (aka Bullion) as an independent artist, Groves has found her perfect musical home with Bella Union. ‘Radio Red’ is her most complete and authentic work to date, with a collection of songs that evoke the essence of half-remembered pop tunes, ambient sounds, and electronic music. This album seamlessly combines elements of 1970s folk-pop, 90s shoegaze, and 80s soft rock, creating a unifying romantic atmosphere throughout.
The familiarity of tracks like ‘Sky At Night’ and ‘D 4 N’ is intentional, channeling the enchanting melodies of Cocteau Twins’ ‘Four Calendar Cafe’ and the slow-burning allure of Italians Do It Better.
