Last month, the enigmatic echoes of “Swarm” reverberated across the digital realm, its presence made known through Mike Patton’s esteemed Ipecac label. The artists behind this atmospheric ambient-noise masterpiece? An avant-garde electronic venture, Venera, steered by the skilled hands of James “Munky” Shaffer from Korn.

The revelation coincided with the release of “Hologram,” their latest ethereal offering. Released on August 16th, this captivating track is paired with a visually entrancing video crafted by EFFIXX, with 3D artistry courtesy of Colombia’s Samanta Garcia. The song is further elevated by Rizz of VOWWS, lending her voice and piano expertise. Dive into this otherworldly experience above.

Munky, together with his Venera associate, the accomplished Atlanta composer and filmmaker Chris Hunt, discussed the making of “Hologram”. They described how the track naturally evolved from a drum machine beat, complemented by wavy guitars. They believe that, despite limited encounters with holograms, these images capture a mesmerizing emptiness and glow, reminiscent of the intriguing universe they are keenly interested in.
