Marina Herlop, the avant-garde artist from Catalonia, has unveiled her upcoming album, Nekkuja, slated for release on October 27 under the Pan label. This album, succeeding her 2022 release Pripyat, includes the novel track “La Alhambra,” which is available for listening below.
In a recent press statement, Herlop shared, “On sunny days, I would often sit on my apartment balcony. With closed eyes, I would envision myself as a gardener, uprooting purple weeds from the earth, each plant symbolizing a negative memory or emotion I wished to expel.” This mental exercise formed the basis for Nekkuja, which the press release describes as Herlop’s metaphorical garden.
