Canadian punk trio METZ is back with a bang, releasing their latest single, “Light Your Way Home,” from their highly anticipated album, “Up On Gravity Hill.” Set to be their first full-length release in four years, “Up On Gravity Hill” is slated to drop on April 12th via Sub Pop Records. The album has already generated excitement with previously released singles “99” and “Entwined (Street Light Buzz).”
Frontman Alex Edkins describes “Light Your Way Home” as one of their favorites from the upcoming album, drawing inspiration from bands like Jesu and Low during the songwriting process. Lyrically, the track explores the theme of longing for loved ones to the point of losing touch with reality. The band experimented with production techniques, adding distorted drums and a mechanical slap back effect to create a dynamic and expansive sound.
