Glasgow’s innovative producer Lanark Artefax is breaking his four-year production hiatus with the announcement of his latest record, ‘Metallur’, set to release this April on AD 93.
Following his last release in 2019, the acclaimed ‘Corra Linn’ EP, Lanark Artefax’s new offering promises to push boundaries yet again, blending percussive, metallic force with warped tempos and ethereal resonance. The record comprises five tracks, with the eponymous lead single already available on all streaming platforms.
Described as “insurgent and elemental,” ‘Metallur’ features a fusion of alien-like vocal samples and melodic soundscapes, offering listeners an immersive journey into a world of crushed infinity.
Reflecting on his unique production process, Lanark Artefax explains, “More abstract and deconstructed music lets you pick all that apart and you can do something else with it.” This approach has earned him critical acclaim and a dedicated following in the experimental music scene.
Following his return to the stage with a new audio-visual show at Unsound Festival last year, Lanark Artefax is gearing up for headline performances at London’s ICA in May and Barcelona’s Primavera Sound at the end of the month.
‘Metallur’ will be available digitally and on limited edition vinyl, featuring an embossed sleeve and printed inner. Fans can pre-order the record now and prepare to embark on a sonic journey unlike any other.
