The group is helmed by pianist and composer Aron Ottignon and sabar percussionist Bakane Seck, amalgamating elements of mbalax, Afrobeat, Afrofunk, and jazz into their unique sonic palette. Ottignon’s professional trajectory includes collaborations with Stromae and global tours with various artists. On the other hand, Seck, a Senegalese griot, lends his expertise in sabar percussion to the ensemble. The musical journey of Aron & The Jeri Jeri Band commenced in Berlin in 2019, culminating in the production of ‘Teddoungal’, an EP infused with joy, gratitude, and a celebration of Senegalese culture.
