Avalon Emerson is no stranger to the world of music, having successfully woven her magic through the labyrinth of electronic and techno genre. Born on November 10, 1988, this American artist sounds quite at home orchestrating a symphony of uniquely crafted beats and rhythm that reverberate around the world. Renowned clubs, like Berghain in Berlin, have witnessed her enigmatic performances, while high-profile festivals such as Sonar, Coachella, Primavera Sound and Pitchfork Music Festival have likewise fallen under her spell.
Representative of her eclectic roots, embedded deeply in San Francisco and nurtured in a household invested richly in music back in Arizona, Avalon’s love for creating sounds found sustenance in her early years. Synth-pop resonated in her home where classics from Depeche Mode, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Propaganda played regularly, providing an enriching musical background. Following the rhythms set by her guitar-playing father, Avalon, alongside her sister, began their foray into music production, unraveling the complexities of composition.

On top of that, the decade saw her incredible piece, ‘The Frontier’ being labeled one of the top 10 tracks by Resident Advisor.
Avalon Emerson had incited remarkable interest in her talent with records on Ghostly International’s imprint Spectral Sound and her contribution to !K7’s DJ-Kicks series in 2020. Her impressive skills saw her mixing and featuring tracks from Oceanic, Tranceonic, and a personal cover of Magnetic Fields’ ‘Long Forgotten Fairytale’. That same year, Avalon deviated from her usual rhythm to craft a unique platform titled Buy Music Club. This site was dedicated to aggregating and sharing music lists on Bandcamp. She also showcased her unique stamp on the music industry with her Cybernedits, a bootleg-style unofficial remix, offered as free download zip files until 2016.
Her latest album, ‘Written into Changes’ refreshed her signature style by integrating the melodic-heavy synth and heavy percussion from her past work into a new amalgamation. Bringing into the mix her past remixes of prestigious artists such as Slowdive, Robyn, Christine and the Queens, Four Tet, and Austra, Avalon’s vast range of inspirations find fresh embodiment in her latest work.
