The 32-minute auditory voyage penned by Drab Majesty, “An Object in Motion,” symbolizes the genesis of a riveting new phase in the chronicles of the band. 2021 witnessed Deb Demure’s retreat to the secluded Yachats in coastal Oregon. With the embrace of a unique 12-string Ovation acoustic/electric guitar, Deb embarked on musical experiments, channeling the ethereal vibes of the neo-psychedelic ambiance. Collaborative artistry of Rachel Goswell (Slowdive), Justin Meldal-Johnsen (Beck, M83, Air), and Ben Greenberg (Uniform, Circular Ruin Studio) further accentuated the splendor.
From the mesmerizing chords of “Cape Perpetua” to the celestial vocals of Rachel Goswell in “Vanity” echoing The Cure’s spirit, the EP is a cornucopia of emotions. “Yield To Force,” a 15-minute instrumental saga, paints a canvas of musical poetry, embodying Demure’s grandeur.
