After teasing it over a year ago on his radio show, Drake has finally released his highly anticipated debut book of poetry. “Titles Ruin Everything: A Stream of Consciousness” is now available through Phaidon, and it is co-written with his longtime friend and songwriting collaborator Kenza Samir. Samir has contributed to Drake’s previous albums, such as “Views” and “If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late.” The 168-page collection features never-before-published poems that delve into themes of fame, romance, and relationships.
Drake has taken an innovative approach to promote his book. In newspaper ads, he included a QR code that leads to a mysterious website. The website displays a message that says, “I made an album to go with the book. They say they miss the old Drake girl, don’t tempt me. FOR ALL THE DOGS.” However, no release date for the album has been mentioned yet.
In addition to his literary endeavors, Drake is also gearing up for his “It’s All a Blur Tour” alongside 21 Savage, which is set to commence on June 29. Due to immense demand, Drake recently added extra tour dates, including stops in new cities like Toronto, Austin, Milwaukee, and Denver. However, the original ticket prices faced controversy, as fans filed a class-action lawsuit against Ticketmaster, alleging artificially inflated seat prices.
Outside of his own projects, Drake recently collaborated with British rapper J Hus on the track “Who Told You.” Additionally, he released two LPs last year: “Honestly, Nevermind” and “Her Loss,” a collaborative effort with 21 Savage.
Drake’s influence extends beyond his music, as he continues to explore various artistic forms. “Titles Ruin Everything: A Stream of Consciousness” provides fans with an intimate look into his thoughts and emotions through the medium of poetry. As an artist who consistently pushes boundaries and challenges conventions, Drake’s debut book of poetry is yet another testament to his artistic prowess.
