Established in 2004, in the culturally rich environs of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, The Sheepdogs have firmly etched their astounding signatures in the global rock ‘n’ roll panorama. The band crafts music with a distinctive blend of classic rock undertones, reminiscent of legends like The Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Stevie Wonder. The profound artistry within the band is reflected in their inclination towards music that strikes the balance between the rousing exuberance of Led Zeppelin and the tranquil harmonies of Crosby, Stills & Nash.

The band’s career crescendoed in 2024, embarking on a new chapter of independence and constant evolution, along with the sheepdogs’ discography gainingtraction under their self-formed label, Sheepdogs Recording Co. This move saw them regain full control over their music creation and distribution process, allowing them greater artistic freedom. The same year also marked the release of Hell Together, a phenomenal compilation of six tracks that traversed subtle country tones and soothing yacht-rock vibes. It also signified the band’s continued artistic development and a commitment to frequent future musical releases.

The Sheepdogs’ rich musical sojourn spans to the early 2000s, when the founding trio Ewan Currie, Ryan Gullen, and Sam Corbett, fueled by youthful vigor and topped with a passion for 70’s blues-rock, initiated their journey in Corbett’s parents’ basement. Their musical alliances later broadened, leading to the inclusion of an acoustic guitar maestro, Leot Hanson, thereby solidifying The Sheepdogs’ lineup. The quartet’s sonic prowess was further amplified by the addition of Jimmy Bowskill, a highly acclaimed blues guitarist, and Ricky Paquette, both contributing significantly to the band’s overall aural appeal.

Within a couple of years post their formation, The Sheepdogs made impressive strides in their career, releasing their first independent album, Trying to Grow. Their musical exploration further deepened with outstanding releases like the platinum-certified The Sheepdogs, the commendable Future Nostalgia, and the exceptionally versatile Changing Colours. Interestingly, the band’s musical journey also features collaborative efforts with prominent artists like Patrick Carney of The Black Keys.

Commanding an expansive fanbase across four continents, The Sheepdogs’ exhilarating performances are a sight to behold. Their international acclaim transpired when their 2024 hit EP Hell Together showcased their growth and musical versatility. The coming years are promising for The Sheepdogs, as they are committed to pushing their creative limits further and exploring new soundscapes. The band’s artistic journey, teeming with exceptional talent and a profound love for ‘good-time music,’ is a testament to the timeless appeal of emotive and narratively engaging rock music.
