James Blake has unveiled a captivating new single titled “Loading” from his upcoming album, Playing Robots Into Heaven. This will be Blake’s sixth studio album and is set to be released on September 8th via Republic Records. To tease the release, the musician previously dropped “Big Hammer,” a track that samples the Ragga Twins and came with an accompanying music video directed by Oscar Hudson.

“Loading” was co-produced by Blake and Dom Maker, with additional production by Rob McAndrews and Jameela Jamil. The song showcases Blake’s signature crooning as he muses, “Wherever I go I’m only as good as my mind, which is only good if you’re mine.”

Playing Robots Into Heaven follows in the footsteps of Blake’s previous album, Friends That Break Your Heart. With this new release, Blake explores his electronic music roots, reminiscent of his earlier EPs that gained critical acclaim. Although considered his sixth studio LP, Blake did release an ambient album in 2022 called Wind Down, which utilized AI technology and was intended as a sleep aid. In addition, he recently collaborated on Metro Boomin’s standout track “Hummingbird” from the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse soundtrack.

A North American tour is scheduled to kick off a month after the album release, spanning from Queens to Los Angeles over two weeks. Blake will also be performing a hometown show at London’s Alexandra Palace on September 28th. Tickets for all tour dates are currently available for purchase.

In conclusion, James Blake introduces his pulsating single “Loading” from the highly anticipated album Playing Robots Into Heaven. Fans can expect an exploration of Blake’s electronic music roots fused with his signature emotive vocals. Don’t miss out on the chance to catch him live during his North American tour and London hometown show.
