Acclaimed artist Max Cooper has unveiled his latest offering, “With Me,” from the ‘Motif’ EP. The track is amplified by a stunning sci-fi themed music video created by Michael McAfee. This release marks yet another successful collaboration between Cooper and Australian singer-songwriter Kathrin deBoer, melding operatic garage elements.

Their collaboration effortlessly blends deBoer’s haunting vocals with the powerful production style Max is known for, delivering a cinematic musical journey. The visual narrative, beautifully crafted by McAfee, takes viewers on a surreal journey across New Zealand alongside spacetime-bending extraterrestrials. These beings perceive time and space differently from humans, making their interaction a bewildering experience.

Cooper shares insights about the creation of the video, stating, “Michael McAffee and I envisioned this concept of interacting with invisible beings from another realm. Michael’s trip to New Zealand provided the perfect backdrop for our narrative. The entire project was a thrilling experience, and I’m grateful to both Kathrin and Michael for their incredible work.”

Tracks like “Vertebrae / Forgotten Places” from the EP have already garnered attention, showcasing Max’s knack for weaving intricate details into dancefloor rhythms. “With Me” is no exception. Following the techno beats of “Swapped,” this track delves into a blend of club beats enriched by folk undertones and deep synths reminiscent of traditional garage vibes.

Talking about the collaboration process, Max says, “Kathrin has an innate ability to connect with music instantly and pour out her emotions. We tried to capture this rawness in the final product. The track might seem unconventional with its folk elements, but it felt right.”

Released on Max’s Mesh platform, the ‘Motif’ EP exemplifies his expertise in breaking musical boundaries, delivering both vibrant and refined auditory experiences. The EP is a manifestation of Max’s varied musical influences, echoing the motifs of his life in electronic music. Rather than a somber introspection, ‘Motif’ is a diverse amalgamation of audio-visual concepts. Each track, enriched with historical and experiential influences, plays a unique role in his live performances, offering audiences a comprehensive exploration of his musical psyche.
