PC Music, the innovative record label founded by A.G. Cook, has announced that it will cease to release new music after this year.
In 2023, PC Music will celebrate its 10th anniversary since being established by Cook in 2013. The label gained recognition through a series of Soundcloud releases. Yesterday (25 June), Cook revealed the news via Instagram and on the PC Music website, stating that this year will mark the last for new releases from the label.
In the announcement, PC Music outlined its future plans, which include focusing on “archival projects” and “special reissues” starting from next year. However, the label did mention that there will be a undisclosed number of new albums and singles released throughout the remainder of 2023.
PC Music has been widely praised for pushing the boundaries of pop music and influencing the broader music landscape since its inception in 2013. Notable releases over the years include A.G. Cook‘s single “Beautiful” from the album “PC Music Volume 1,” Hannah Diamond‘s album “Reflections,” Namasenda‘s “Unlimited Ammo: Infinity,” and Danny L Harle‘s 2015 EP “Broken Flowers.” The latter released the single “Super Natural” featuring Carly Rae Jepsen and “Ashes of Love” with Caroline Polachek under the label.
Cook concluded the statement by directing fans to a new 100-minute mix on the PC music website, consisting of tracks from “the past, present, and future,” and signing off with the phrase “Personal Computer Music forever.”
