Andy Baxter, better known by his stage name Robohands, returns after his debut LP ‘Green’ and his follow-up ‘Dusk’, presenting his first offering under the KingUnderground label. This release is a vivid showcase of the composer’s myriad of talents – from composition to instrumentation to production.
‘Shapes’, the third instalment from the London-based artist-composer-producer, was originally set to be fully recorded at Buffalo Studios alongside producer JP Pilon in Limehouse, London. Although a significant portion of the album, including all drum tracks, was wrapped up there, the unforeseen challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic prompted Baxter to innovate and leverage his engineering prowess. Equally passionate about the technical intricacies of the creative process and his gear as he is about his role as a seasoned composer and musician, Baxter managed to complete the remaining parts of the album in the comfort of his London flat.
