Fast track to the origins of Disiniblud – Nayar, a composer and avant-garde musician hailing from Brooklyn, and Keith, a Philadelphia-based composer and versatile instrument player, stitched together their shared passion and undeniable talent to constitute this distinctive duo. The birth of Disiniblud was announced with the release of their debut album, which bore the same name, via Smugglers Way on the 18th of July. The headlining singles from this collaborative work, “It’s Change”, featuring talented artists Willy Siegel, Katie Dey, and Julianna Barwick, and “Blue Rags, Raging Wind” with a special contribution from Amigone, set the tone for their unique musical journey.
The germination of Disiniblud goes back to a serendipitous rendezvous in a park, around half a decade ago, between Nayar and Keith. Both composers had been long-time admirers of each other’s work, and they soon realized their mutual desire to combine their creative opus. They describe Disiniblud as a dialogue, unimpeded by words, surrounding the trials of mortality, the rejuvenating process of reinvention, and the simplicity of childhood curiosity. Nayar, expounding their vision, clarified that it is not solely about healing and moving beyond the shadows but accepting the existence of both light and darkness in life. Echoing this sentiment, Keith added that incorporating elements of both is the only feasible way to comprehensively experience and appreciate life.
