‘In Thy Domain’ is a concept album and audio-visual work created by British artist Fred Mann. This double-vinyl album consists of 12 tracks that take listeners on a cinematic journey through the evolution of mankind and explores themes of human advancement, technology, life after AI, and more.
The album encompasses various genres, including ambient, electronica, broken-beat techno, and experimental drone, resulting in an immersive musical experience that reflects the dynamism of human evolution.
Drawing inspiration from the latest scientific knowledge, ‘In Thy Domain’ delves into the pivotal moments in human civilization and the significant timelines that have shaped our species. Accompanying the music are a series of artworks and scrapbook images displayed in the vinyl gatefold, symbolizing each track and its corresponding era.
The album features additional production, synthesizers, flute, and clarinet by Chris Taylor (known for his work with Grizzly Bear and Warp Records), as well as additional production and drum programming by Inland (Ed Davenport of Counterchange).
‘In Thy Domain’ was premiered live in Prague in October 2019, where Fred Mann performed alongside Alessandro Cortini for Dietl Archive x Polygon.
The album is presented as a heavyweight double vinyl in a gatefold sleeve designed by Fred Mann himself.
