Jayda G is making a comeback in the music scene with her latest album titled “Guy”. The Grammy-nominated DJ, producer, and writer collaborated with Jack Peñate for this project and received contributions from Lisa-Kaindé Diaz, Ed Thomas, and more. The album features 13 tracks that draw from her House, Disco, RnB, and Soul roots, with emphasis on pop songwriting. Notably, the album also incorporates archival recordings of her late father William Richard Guy, documenting his life growing up in a rough Kansas neighborhood, being married and enlisted in the Vietnam War by 18, and his experiences caught up in the 1968 race riots.

Jayda G’s latest album is a tribute not only to her father but also to the African American experience. Despite the somber nature of the album, the project ultimately uplifts and empowers its listeners. With her upcoming tour in various locations worldwide, fans can look forward to experiencing her music live. The album photography by Nabil Elderkin and a forthcoming feature-length documentary “Blue Carbon” hosted by Jayda will further showcase her diverse talents and creativity.
