Hessle Audio co-founder Pearson Sound unveils his latest solo EP since 2020, presenting four captivating tracks of brooding breakbeat, dark garage, and late-night electro. Returning to his family label after focusing on his own imprint for nearly a decade, Pearson Sound infuses his music with a touch of classic UK melancholy, drawing influence from the late ‘90s and mid ‘00s D&B, dubstep, and breakstep scenes. Additionally, his latest work showcases an inspired nod to the moody Detroit beatdown sound, reminiscent of Stingray & Gerald Donald’s NRSB-11 project and dBridge’s autonomic styles.
One of the standout tracks on the EP is “Red Sky,” a mesmerizing blend of bone-swiveling breakstep, intricate choppage, and deep Reese bass.
